SHIELD

How it is built

SHIELD is our paint protection film line. We don’t make film: we choose it from manufacturers, check their documents, and sell it under the SHIELD name with the price and the spec sheet on the page.

The planned spec for the line is aliphatic TPU with a self-healing top coat. Each value on a product page is marked as a target until the manufacturer’s data sheet confirms it.

Typical PPF construction Exploded view. Illustrative, not to scale. Layers from top: Top coat, Base film, Adhesive, Release liner. 4 3 2 1
  1. Top coat The outer surface. Sets gloss or matte, often self-healing
  2. Base film Clear TPU, the bulk of the thickness
  3. Adhesive Pressure-sensitive, bonds the film to the paint
  4. Release liner Protects the adhesive, peeled off at install

Exploded view. Illustrative, not to scale.

Before we list a product

  • The manufacturer’s technical data sheet (TDS) is on file before we list a film.
  • A written warranty from the manufacturer is on file. Ours never promises more than theirs.
  • The supplier has a track record with this film: at least two years of sales, plus installer references or reviews.
  • The base material is named in writing. We only sell a film as SHIELD if the TDS says TPU.
  • Every order ships with a batch number we log, so a claim can be traced.
